There are many boys with attention problems. But I think that most boys are energetic by nature.
‘The Complete ADHD Parenting Guide for Boys: Discover Scientific Strategies to Manage Behavioral
Problems, Improve Social Skills and Ensure School Success Without Yelling. (Positive Parenting Book 1)’
does exactly what you would expect; explain why boys have ADHD. The truth is, BOYS ARE DIFFERENT
FROM GIRLS!! CLASSROOMS ARE NOT SET UP FOR BOYS TO SUCCEED!!
Boys are biologically engineered to be more active. Funny, I don’t see any books about girls not
participating in gym class. (Despite the negativity I will receive from the previous comment, I’m a
substitute teacher and have seen countless examples of boys being squirrely in class while the girls sit
and learn, and boys being aggressive during gym class and girls not being interested.
Before you call me a sexist, I also have two daughters. One is an athlete who has no problem roughing it
up in gym class, and the other is one who stands to the side and talks to her friends.
That being said, I will give this book an honest review…
‘The Complete ADHD Parenting Guide for Boys' mentions sports, teamwork, and recess a total of 12 times combined. TWELVE TIMES! QC Harmony makes a few good points, the best point being how sports can teach delayed gratification.
The book has many good activity ideas.
The book is laid out well.
The book is researched well.
Based on these factors, I will rate this book 4.5 stars.
