    One of the hardest things for me as a parent of a child with high-functioning autism, is to watch my son having a deep desire to engage with other children, but not know how to do it. My son particularly is not an "anti-social" person. He wants to interact with his peers, but his HFA makes that difficult for him, because he can't read social cues and he doesn't know HOW to interact with his peers. Sometimes this leads to him saying and doing things that are very awkward and/or socially inappropriate.

    This book has a lot of great games, activities, and tips for helping children learn those social cues, and learn appropriate ways to assimilate into peer groups and their activities. The games and tips are easy to put into practice and through repeating these things and a lot of practice we have been able to help my son learn how to interact with his peers.

    Kids Need This
    Autism is horrible for the family and the autistic individual. The biggest thing is the social world, and they need help any way they can.
