    I am a school psychologist at junior high. I am utilizing this book as a part of my mindfulness curriculum for students with ADHD and executive functioning deficits. Because mindfulness is "popular" right now, there is an overflowing amount of books being written on the topic. That being said, this book is certainly worth purchasing. I am only a quarter of the way through reading it, but I have found almost every page to be helpful and jammed packed with useful and realistic journal prompts, activities, and rationalizations of what the activities do and how they help. It has been a fantastic resource thus far, and I believe that as I read the remainder of the book, I will continue to find valuable information and activity ideas.

Everything is ready to go and fun! The exercises on how the brain works are comprehensive and explained in a simple way for students and teachers to understand! The skills our students use the most are the belly breathing, and the present moment exercises like "Up in a Tree" and "Lazy River". If you are thinking about starting any mindfulness activities with your students, this book is a must!

    I am currently sitting in a training with Dr. Burdick as she is reviewing the application of this book. As a school psychologist who has had experience at all levels, I find this book to be a hugely valuable resource to use for a wide variety of students. I have been sitting her developing my counseling trajectory for my groups starting asap! I would recommend this to anyone looking for ideas to use to help students cope and develop self-awareness.

Using the book as a guide I was able to tailor a program for my class and I continue to use it daily. It is a really worth while purchase for parents, teachers and clinicians or anyone who is teaching mindfulness, or indeed, interested in learning more about mindfulness, -- money well spent in my opinion.
